Responsibilities
- Lead Shopify Plus projects from planning to go-live.
- Mentor and manage a team of frontend/backend developers.
- Set up and enforce coding standards, CI/CD, and code review workflows.
- Lead integration of third-party systems (ERP, CRM, fraud, loyalty) using APIs and webhooks.
- Take charge of performance tuning, accessibility checks, and security best practices.
- Coordinate with client-side IT teams to understand system-level constraints and integration needs.
- Support app publishing process, compliance reviews, and release cycles.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- 6+ years of software development experience, 3+ years on Shopify.
- Strong architectural understanding of Shopify Plus, checkout flow, metafields/metaobjects, etc.
- Should have Strong understanding of Shopify’s architecture and internal workflows, including checkout flow, customer data lifecycle, and order processing
- Experience with Node.js-based custom apps, REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth, and billing flows.
- Strong knowledge of cloud hosting (AWS/App Runner/ECR), performance, and security.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems, measure performance, and guide upgrades/decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills.
- Good to have - Shopify app store publishing experience. Experience with Shopify Markets, multi-region stores, or complex B2B setups. And exposure to headless commerce or composable architecture using Hydrogen.
